Craig-Martin）设计的装置艺术可称得上是“神来之笔”。尽管从最初开始，河畔电站便站在了圣保罗大教堂对面，但直到20世纪90年代之前，这种“呼应”看起来更多像是散发着异味的流浪汉试图隔着河水跟贵族小姐打招呼一样可笑。而在千禧年之后，泰特现代美术馆一跃成为荣耀加身的骑士，也迎来了千禧桥这一“红地毯”，它们之间的关联也被越来越多的人发现和认可（图26）。而“瑞士之光”则实现了二者的“目光交汇”，也架起了由光芒组成的“第二座千禧桥”（有意思的是，千禧桥的设计概念本身也与光有关，名为“光之刃”，Blade border-box;">在系统回顾了泰特现代美术馆充满戏剧性的再生演进过程，并对其成功经验进行了初步梳理和总结之后不难得出如下结论。首先，工业遗产是一种的特殊的建筑遗产，它们中的大多数并不像精美的建筑遗迹或者承载回忆的纪念碑那样是一块家传的金银，只需细心保存起来便能产生某种价值。相较之下，它更像是一件陈旧的铁器，只有通过创造性地锻造和打磨，并赋予与其特质和应用环境相适应的功能方可最大限度地发挥其价值。其次，在这个适应性改造过程中，应当贯彻“三个尊重”。一是尊重历史，强调对遗产自身和所处城市文脉的延续，更多地从“简单而纯粹”的思路出发，避免大拆大改，并力求对城市经典内涵有所呼应。二是尊重环境，强调对基地及其周边自然环境的“最小干预”，并结合对本地特色文化的挖掘，力求将文化与自然进行完美融合。三是尊重社区，强调市民对于文化和文化设施发展的重要作用，在文化传播和教育普及方面主动作为，力求创造人与遗产、遗产与城市之间的良性互动。</p><p
