Sustainable Urbanisation will be held in Beijing on 12 December 2018. The conference aims to build on and continue the previous achievements of the EU-China Urbanisation Partnership, which was agreed in May 2012 by President Barroso and Premier Li Keqiang.</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br style="box-sizing: border-box;"  /></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box;">The first annual China-EU Conference on Sustainable Urbanisation was held at CAUPD on 26 October 2017. This first annual conference plays an important role in the implementation of both the EU-China Urbanisation Partnership and the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Horizon 2020 Co-Funding Mechanism as a means of facilitating future discussion, collaboration, and mutual learning between countries.</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box;"><br style="box-sizing: border-box;"  /></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box;">China is in the processes of establishing the Xiong’an New Area and the focus of this conference will be on this initiative. The construction of the Xiongan New Area is of national significance and will support similar initiatives planned for the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, and the Shanghai Pudong New Area. CAUPD is responsible for developing the Master Plan for Xiong’an New Area and is working on designing the digital planning platform for Xiong’an New Area. border-box;">“中欧可持续城镇化合作项目”项目于2017年正式启动。此项目旨在为中欧城镇化发展的互联互通搭建高端交流平台，并协助中国与欧盟在可持续城镇化领域寻找创新合作模式。“中欧可持续城镇化合作项目”包括“中欧城镇化可持续创新平台（一期）”和“中国城镇化发展中的文化与社会经济问题（二期）”两个子项目，并分别与中国科学技术部“文化城市建设与关键技术研究”和“数字城市规划新技术研发”互为配套项目。</p><p 2em;white-space: normal;box-sizing: border-box;">“文化城市建设与关键技术研究”是2017年度第一批国家重点研发计划政府间国际科技创新合作重点专项，于2017年10月正式获批。项目将对中国与欧洲文化城市建设理论展开研究，引进并创新实用性关键技术，提高新型城镇化质量，搭建中国与欧洲在可持续城镇化与文化城市建设领域的合作桥梁。</p><p
